Btw….if anyone wants to buy my 85mm f1.8, it’s for sale!  $350!

This is my girl – taken Easter Sunday 4/24/11 around 5pm. I am *trying* to take more photos of my own family! :-)

tech info: Nikon D700, Nikon 85mm f/1.8 (yes, I really want the 1.4 – thanks a LOT Nichole! haha!), f-stop = 2.2, shutter = 1/1600, ISO 200. Used Florabella’s “amber” from the spring set I and “raw sugar” texture overlay from the texture set II using the texture application action too from set III (love it since it replaces the color tone where you erase the texture). 

What I love about the top photo is that the camera focused on her hair (I wasn’t using my focal points – just let it go where it wanted).  Of course the next frame was in focus, but there was something I really liked about this blurry one – sorta surreal.  Anyway, off to work!

Dan posted this video which I find extremely hilarious!  If you take 5 minutes of your time to watch it, not only will you probably get a good laugh out of it, you’ll know what we saw first hand on our trip!  What a couple of stinkers!  LOL!  (p.s. scroll down to the bottom and push pause on the playlist music.) Eli, Lacy & Amelia – do you know how hard it is to get a photo of everyone looking at me?  Much less looking HAPPY?  haha!We now have proof here that Eli will probably be a “tippy toes” walker like big sisters Ava & Addison!  :-)Yes, I know it’s totally blurry, but there was something I still liked about it.  :-) Kyle & Lisa….awww!Sweet Lacy Belle!Seriously, how CUTE are they?  :-)Mr. Lucifer!Angie says she’s got her hands and HEART FULL!  :-)Mitzy = ADORABLE!   waking up from nap time!Dan & Angie’s neighbor Ron took us out on Lake Norman his boat (he belongs to a boating club – gotta check that out for around here!)  It was a PERFECT day – sunny and 72+!

Thinking ahead to spring and I cannot WAIT to get out of the house/studio and start taking photos outside again!  Makes you realize how much you miss it when you are cooped up inside all winter!  uggh!

On another note, I decided to do another “Click and Chat” session for April 15th.  Go to the “availability” tab above for more info and let me know if you want to sign up!  I’ve done two sessions now and they are super fun!  It’s great to see so many people eager to learn more about photography!

  • Slept in until 8:30! (that’s super late for us!)
  • Scott took Buddy for a walk
  • I was forbidden from being on the computer all day!
  • We all went to Target and bought patio furniture for our deck!  We haven’t had patio furniture in almost 10 years!
  • Went to Culver’s for lunch – yum!
  • Went to Northtown mall and Scott, Jacob & Claire got new cell phones (a belated Christmas gift for Jacob & Claire!)
  • Put up lights under the deck
  • Put our flag on our deck!
  • Ate dinner on our deck!
  • Took some photos of Claire in the wild daisies
  • Claire went to play at Jacy’s and Scott & Jacob took a bike ride (hence…the computer time!)
  • Enjoyed the BEAUTIFUL weather and gorgeous day!
  • Bonfire coming soon! ??

Hope everyone else had a great day too!  Thank you to all the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom to do all of the above!  :-)
