Meet Nick! He’s a senior at Wayzata High School – class of 2011! We met for our session at the beautiful waterfront in Wayzata. Mom really wanted photos in the area so I was up for it! I’d never shot over there before so it was fun exploring new places! Nick was a great sport and I must say it was so nice having a subject do whatever I told them to! haha! {yeah, I’d love one of those boats!}{I was all over the sun flare this day! It was a PERFECT day for photos! 85 degrees, sunny, low humidity. Loved it!} {handsome dude, huh?} {more sun flare!} {the one on the right is my personal fav…!} All about Nick:

Emily’s senior pics!

Here’s Emily! She contacted me for pics and I really didn’t have openings until January…but then I was thinking, “I really don’t want to be taking her senior pics in January!!”, so I made an exception and did it early.

I’ve known Emily since she was about 4 or 5 years old! She used to be the neighbor to Scott’s sister, but they moved to a different neighborhood about 10 years ago. So the last time I saw her was when she was about 7 or 8 years old! OK, so I just *had* to dig out the only pic I have of her…from Halloween 1998! That’s her on the left in the 50’s girl costume!

I just love looking at old pics! btw…Jacob is in the dog suit – upper right (aww!) – Mollie is next to him – on the left – and bottom left to right next to Emily is True (Lauren & Mollie’s little brother), Will (Emily’s little bro) and Lauren.
Anyway, like I said in my previous post, Emily was a great sport and put up with the drizzling rain for our session! But we actually started at my house first and did some studio shots.Emily lettered in academics and dance! How awesome! She wanted to do something fun w/ her pom poms!Then we went down Lyndale Ave. to try to find some cool places…But yeah Emily’s hair was getting wet…and my camera was too…so we went to the Guthrie for some dry shots!

I love Emily’s smiles (the most natural looks I think!) but I also like this one that is a little more serious.

I think this is one of my favs for some reason. btw I was right up against the glass on the 9th floor of the guthrie…and I am pretty scared of heights! eek!Then we got a few more outside the Guthrie – and headed over to the Mill City museum.

On the way home, we stopped and got some snowboard shots. We tried to make it look like it was winter!

I jumped ahead a little and edited a quick one of Emily. I don’t do very many seniors so I was excited to do Emily’s session! She was very fun and easy-going! And a GREAT sport since it was raining pretty much for our whole session! I had asked her a few questions to get to know her a little and thought I’d put it into a mini layout for her. Here’s some more pics of Lauren from yesterday! We went to the Guthrie/Mill City…
Took some photos w/ my NEW CHAIR from Craig’s list! Been scoring on some used stuff lately!Oh, and Lauren DOES smile! I feel like I’ve taken so many where she looks serious…(which I really do love)…but she has a great smile! Mollie came with us too! She’s already starting to plan out what she wants for her senior photos in two years!

Tried a desaturated look here w/ Sheye’s vintage wash duo tone.

There’s so many cool nooks & crannies in downtown Minneapolis! I really need to shoot down there more!

So for Lauren’s senior photos, my SIL Tammie actually wanted me to go to New York w/ them and take them there…but that didn’t pan out. So I decided it would be fun to do a series of mini senior sessions to get a variety of looks. We did the natural/flowers one here and here…and now the city/grunge stuff here a little. We’re actually going out pretty soon to do some more!

All elements used here are from this talented lady!

Thought the “10″ was cool here since she’s graduating in 2010!

Used Pioneer Woman “seventies” on the faded photo above…

We were walking to the car and I spotted this ‘bebe’ ad on a bus stop thingy. I used Sheye’s “pale and interesting” action here – as well as the cool frame from Dressed in Pink.

Here’s another of the graffitti wall. The guy was actually painting it at the time and people were standing around watching! I had Lauren block him. We didn’t hang out too long since we felt a little silly. Love his work!! Very pretty!

Pink Chair!

So I saw this cool chair on Craig’s list and just HAD to have it! A lady had it for only $5!!! Score!! But whoa, she lived 33 miles from me! So…. 1-1/2hrs later (round trip) and oh, $10 in gas or so….hmmm…yeah, I’d say it was worth it! I really think I’ll like it and use it a lot! So I talked Lauren, Tammie (her mom/my SIL) and Ashley (family friend) into making the trip with me! On the way back, we stopped off on Hennepin Avenue and took photos really quick – like 20 minutes.

Rachel – Senior Photos!

Here’s the rest of Rachel’s session! It was hard for me to narrow down which ones to edit & post since she’s so darn photogenic! We started at the Hopkins studio – did some indoor pics w/ the ring flash, then we did natural light – still at the studio. Love that chair – I bought it from Craig’s list! Her shirt matched perfectly with it!

There’s something I like about this one…very old-school/Audrey Hepburn-ish. I think it’s those pearls, the dark hair, and the big brown eyes!! This one was taken right outside the studio…
Then we went to Lake Harriet! We had to walk quite a ways, but we found the wildflowers! (and pretty shaded….perfect!)Used the reflector here…white side.These were growing too…I love the rich green color!

Then we went down towards the beach – these are canoes you can rent…
And of course we had to get one by the lifeguard boat!Then we went to the tunnel…and got some fun jumping shots! Rachel is quite the all-around athlete! and she’s really a great girl! (and funny!) She’s got a great head on her shoulders!mom spotted all this green-ness near the tracks…so lush & pretty!and of course we had to get some on the tracks! I used Sheye’s “vintage wash duotone” with “softly” layered on top, as well as some texture added. Used the Dressed in City Grunge papers & frame here from this site… font is “the king & queen” for her name and “top secret” for the date. contrast that w/ a fresh citrus-y look…there are so many possibilities! This is from this site. Fonts are “young love es” and “impact”.and we did a fun/playful one w/ mom (who is often gets mistaken for Rachel’s sister! So pretty!)Thanks for coming Rachel & Tracy! It was great to meet you both!

Here’s a quick sneak peek from my session today w/ Rachel! She was super fun and so cute! OK, I was doing my celebrity match thing again…..does she not look like a cross between Shania Twain & Demi Lovato? I think so…! My daughter says NO to Demi….and she doesn’t know who Shania is! haha! yes, still on the patterned paper thing here….paper by the talented Erica! (she did my logo too!)
