Tricia came in the pharmacy today and said she had a bad dream that her photos didn’t turn out – lol!  Yes, I’d say that was just a bad dream!  ;-)   Jacob was assisting me like I said in a previous post.  Here’s his view…..and mine… a shot by Jacob that I really liked for some reason.  :-) Kendall is gorgeous!  Love the cute missing front teeth too! and Connor is so handsome!  And I must say for a boy, he’s super super sweet and affectionate to his sister & family – and such a good listener for me!  Perfect! {I thought this series was cute!} awww, such a daddy’s girl! some mom & dad snuggle time! thanks so much for coming guys!  Always great to see you!

They were so much fun and I love how they styled themselves!  Well, OK, I love how Nichole dressed everyone!  I really like big Karge’s jeans and he made some comment about Nichole dressing him – haha!  Sounds very familiar!  ;-) Karge is quite the little funny man!  Love his little belly laugh and all his expressions! I tried to get him to act “serious” here – haha!  He did a great job! Some of those great expressions I was talking about….!  :-) OK, seriously, how CUTE are they?  I told them to “get their sexy on” and here’s the result!  hot hot!  :-) For being a photographer herself (and a dang kickbutt one at that!  If you have not checked out her work, you need to!), Nichole is very comfortable in front of the camera!   She should be – she’s gorgeous!  OK, and doing my celebrity-client match, does she not look quite a bit like a brunette Cameron Diaz?  Thanks for coming to my urban minis guys!  You’re the best!  :-)  (btw…a big thanks to Dave for letting me shoot in this cool location!  :-) )

LOVE his little outfits!  Way, way cute!  And his curls?  omg soooo cute!  Cory called it his “mullet” – haha!  crack me up! {One of my favs!} totally adorable! Molly is expecting their second child in January!  Is she’s not the cutest pregnant lady ever! ? And we can’t forget about big sister Reagan!  What a cutie!  I was a little worried when she said she was TWO…but she did great!  :-) the whole family unit! And then the cake……!  I have never seen a kid completely SHRED their cake before!  haha!  He was having a great time!   When I was going through my pictures on the computer, my daughter walked in and kept saying over and over again, “He’s SOOOO CUTE!!”  Yes, he sure is! Then we cleaned up and went to a nearby park.  Lindsay’s parents - Jim & Jan – came along too!  They were a great help with the kids and thanks for carrying my “mystery box” for me Jim!  haha!  Thanks for coming guys!  It was so nice to meet the rest of the family too!  :-)

And Kaia – age 6 - just beautiful too!    Lots of spunk there!  :-)   Ty loves hockey so he wanted to work that in to our session. The fisheye lens again!  haha! Mom brought this number “5″ too!  55 is actually dad’s football number, but I loved that “5″ is the number of people in their family!  :-) The girls ganging up on their bro… Ty was telling a story/joke about a grandma pooping her pants – lol!  Everyone was cracking up! how cute are mom & dad!?  The kids drew the hearts (awww!)   oh, LOVE your flower pin too Sara!Thanks so much for coming Kevin, Sara,  Marley, Ty & Kaia!  Your family is the best!  :-)

(paper here is from this site)  I tried something different on this photo – used Sheye’s Vintage Wash duotone at FULL opacity, then saved that file and layered it over my normal sepia edit and changed the opacity to 51%.  I kinda like how it turned out.  :-)   Isn’t she so cute?  LOVE the big brown eyes and all the curls! They were actually swinging her here but I liked this one the best.  :-) Sadie was fussing a little so dad gave her a few throws up in the air.  She loved it!  Marilyn & Sadie – awww – so cute! Marilyn & Jason – awww!  :-) Thanks for coming Marilyn, Jason & Sadie!  It was nice to meet you!  Your family is way cute!

As you know, 2 year olds are notorious for not behaving well and being very independent!  I will say for a 2 year old, Olivia was GREAT!  But there were moments when she did what she wanted!  Like refusing to wear this necklace after 2 shots!  Such a little cutiepie! The purple flowers are still blooming so we headed out to the park!  This was actually supposed to be a mini session but that didn’t work out with both of our schedules so we did a full session in the morning instead.  Here’s Olivia showing how many fingers she is (after some help from dad!)  :-) (chair I got from an antique store in Buffalo – shopping with Shelley!)  Paper here is from this site. We tried to get some daisy shots, but Olivia really did not like it there!  Oh well!  Sometimes my ideas don’t always work out. I actually did Ryan & Lisa’s engagement shoot way back in 2005 I believe!  They’re just as cute as ever! Thanks for coming again Ryan, Lisa & Olivia!  It’s always great to see you all!  :-)

Luckily we were able to sneak a few shots in before it started pouring! We did our whole session on location at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. (behind the Walker – and of course the cool grass was mowed/tamped down! grrr….) (love Ben’s expression here!) OK, I must say that if it had been any family that was NOT laid-back, this session would probably have been a bust!  This is just about the time it started to sprinkle…then started to POUR! So we went across the street into the Cowles Conservatory (and of course there is a glaring notice on the door that photographers need permits!  Well hello I didn’t plan to shoot there, so I didn’t have one.  We took our chances….eek!)  It’s sooooo cool in there!  Love it!  I just might need to get one of those permits!  ;-) Poor Lexi with her wet hair!  She still looks adorable! Ben found his belly button! So I figured we didn’t get kicked out of the conservatory so why not try to shoot in the Walker!  They were VERY nice and gave permission – we just couldn’t have any of the art work in the background or in the photos at all.  Not a problem!  Lexi had to use the bathroom so we took these when she was done (I don’t believe the wallpaper counts as art work…haha!)  The light was really funky/orange back there – so I turned this b&w, then did a gradient map (pink to white) here.  Something different!  ha!  Not sure what I think….  (this was actually at the very end of our session – Lexi with her reward for being so good!) THIS is what I was looking for – the headphones!  The kids seemed to enjoy it! Thank goodness for photoshop and a camera that can handle high ISOs!  You would not believe how DARK it was this day!  I used Pioneer Woman’s “fresh and colorful” here. Thanks for coming again guys!  Next time we BETTER NOT get rained out!  :-)
