Here is Mr. Dylan at 8 months! LOVE the spikey hair! LOL! What a cutie pie!
way cute little hat (and I think Carson brought the exact same one!)
What cute expressions! Paper here is from the Cotton Tail Kit by Heather Ann – (paper recolored)
Of course we had to get some snuggling time in! ![]()
And mom brought one of daddy’s ties!
Mom wanted some sports stuff and I admit I was a little nervous….I am NOT a sports fan at ALL, but I think these turned out sorta cute!!
Thanks for coming Lindsay & Dylan! Hope big sis Reagan is feeling better!! ![]()

Heather has a challenge right now over at her site – go check it out! The challenge is to use digital paper as a texture! I did it here (beautiful Olivia from last April!)
And I was recently asked permission for a local WI magazine to publish photos of them from their session to use in some ads – can’t wait to see which one(s) they picked! oh, and btw fashion tip = the flower did NOT come with the dress – mom added it! LOVE it! Totally made the outfit even MORE adorable! Feel free to add little touches like that to your kids & your own outfits! ![]()
Anyway, this using digi scrapbook “paper” as texture first dawned on me in the summer of ‘08 (these are some of the first photos I tried it on!) and it was like a lightbulb moment! Oh, you can’t imagine how excited I was! (remember Brandi!?) Anyway, as with most things, I stopped using it or only use it on certain things… :-) I did use it on this photo just recently though! I thought if I kept my wall a neutral gray then I could add textures to change the color!
Try it out! It’s super fun!
I’ll warn you though – if you have never been to Heather’s blog, be prepared! She will BLOW you away with all her craftiness! She makes Martha Stewart look like a total loser! haha! Not only is she the mother of three, she works FT, runs her own digi scrapbooking business, makes GORGEOUS stuff for her etsy shop, her house looks like it’s straight out of Pottery Barn – and now she’s making FURNITURE! Boy, I get tired just reading her blog and I feel like a huge slug! haha!
But she is a total inspiration to me! i.e. I want to be HER!
OH, and back to the using digi papers for textures – here’s a tip – if you don’t want the texture on the people/faces, erase at 30-40% opacity & flow – keep erasing until you get the effect you like!

Here’s Miss Lily! You might remember her from this fun family session last summer!
{OK, could she BE any cuter?} btw….I bought this dress on clearance at Target for $4.50 and asked her to model it for me. If you want to wear it on your little girl, just mention it when we talk about your session – it’s a 3T. ![]()
The real theme of the day was “dress up”. Mom bought some fun tutus and girly stuff. I used Sheye’s Eye Candy actions here – “softly”, “vintage wash duotone” (tweaked), and “vintage overlay, pink” (tweaked).
Kelly says that Lily loves wearing her shoes, so I asked her to bring those along too. These are her wedding shoes! ![]()
Here’s all the ladies – grandma Judy, mom Kelly & sweet Lily!
Thanks for coming girls! It’s always fun to see you all! ![]()
